# Candidate profile and required skills

• Minimum of 2 years in engineering, solution architecture, technical education, or developer relations.
• Strong familiarity with relational databases, especially Postgres or MySQL.
• Demonstrated ability to produce technical content: blog posts, tutorials, documentation, or recorded talks.
• Experience speaking publicly at conferences or delivering technical presentations.
• Self-directed, able to run multiple projects, and comfortable building relationships in community settings.
• Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to adapt explanations for different audiences.

# Compensation and logistics

PlanetScale publishes a base salary range of $130,000 to $200,000 USD. Total compensation includes base salary, variable compensation where appropriate, benefits, and equity. The company notes that a Talent Acquisition team member will discuss details further during the interview process.
