Today, we're shining a spotlight on NinjaAntwoord, the co-owner and technical lead of IndieSpectrum Radio and founder of Virtual Music Network, two projects dedicated to helping Second Life musicians be heard and discovered. How long have you been in Second Life, and how did you first hear about it? I joined Second Life back in 2013 after a real-life friend who lived in another city introduced me to it.

How it works

• Ninja in 2013 You're the co-owner and technical lead of IndieSpectrum Radio, which helps showcase original music created by Second Life musicians.
• How did you first become involved with IndieSpectrum, and what background or experience did you bring to the role?
• I knew how important IndieSpectrum had been to original artists, so I reached out to its founder, Fox Reinsch, to ask what I could do to help bring it back and support its mission.
• I spent seven years working in commercial radio as an on-air personality, program director, and news director, along with more than 20 years in television broadcast operations.
• It gave us a fun way to spend time together despite the distance, and in the beginning, I really had no idea what to expect.

What to take from it

What started as a simple way to stay connected with a friend gradually became a meaningful part of my own life, and I honestly never imagined when I first logged in that I would still be here more than a decade later. What motivated you to become such an active supporter of the music community? I first became involved with IndieSpectrum Radio as a listener and an avid supporter of Second Life's live music community.
