The useful part

That day, when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. (Mark 4:35–36) The morning started entirely normal with the sun shining and the calendar looking completely manageable. Yet, by noon, an unexpected piece of news completely upended the peace of the day.

• We often move through our routines with an unwritten assumption that if we follow God, check off the right boxes, and try our best to live right, everything will stay neatly in the clear.
• It means He is right there in the boat with you when the wind starts to howl.
• In fact, right before the disciples found themselves fighting for air in the middle of a terrifying squall, Jesus Himself was the one who gave the command to launch out onto the water!

What to take from it

Yet Scripture reminds us that we are never meant to navigate the deep waters alone. Think of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepping into the blazing heat of the furnace.
