On C‑DoT’s 43rd foundation day, the communications minister outlined seven priority streams and urged rapid development and marketing of 6G, AI, quantum, cybersecurity and indigenous stacks to compete internationally.
Jyotiraditya Scindia asked C‑DoT to build capabilities across seven specific technology and sector streams to make Indian telecom R&D globally competitive.
He directed C‑DoT to accelerate work on 6G, AI, quantum technology, cybersecurity and to develop a 5G stack after the 4G stack deployment.
A TCS‑led consortium with C‑DoT and Tejas Networks has already deployed an indigenous 4G stack for BSNL at 100,000 sites, cited as precedent for future efforts.
"Seven streams would power India's strength, and those seven strengths must be housed and become a part of C-DoT's DNA," Scindia said during C-DoT's 43rd foundation day here.
