ASUS launches 24.5-inch Ace esports OLED monitors with refresh rates up to 720Hz

# What ASUS announced

ASUS introduced three new monitors under its Ace collection at Gamescom 2026. All three are 24.5-inch displays targeted at esports players who prioritize high refresh rates, fast response, and compact screen sizes for competitive gaming setups.

# The lineup and how they differ

This is the top-of-the-line model in the new trio. It uses a Tandem WOLED 1080p panel and offers a 720Hz refresh rate. The monitor supports Dolby Vision HDR and can reach up to 1,700 nits of peak brightness. ASUS added a feature called the Position Sensor that measures the monitor's height and tilt and displays those measurements on-screen so users can reproduce a preferred physical setup when traveling with the display.

This model uses a QD-OLED panel and runs at 560Hz. ASUS applies its BlackShield film plus an anti-glare coating to the panel. According to ASUS, that treatment improves perceived black levels by up to 40 percent and increases the panel's hardness compared with an untreated surface.

ASUS said the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace and the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace will be available in early Q4. The company provided MSRPs of $1,099 for the PG259QWS Ace and $699 for the XG259QWPG Ace. No price or specific launch timing was given for the XG259QDNS Ace.

ASUS has previously released OLED gaming monitors, including 27-inch models shown at CES 2026 and the earlier ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace revealed at Computex 2026. These new Ace models are the company's first 24.5-inch OLED options, a size many competitive gamers prefer for high-frame-rate play and smaller physical setups.

# Practical implications for buyers

If you prioritize raw frame throughput and the absolute highest refresh rate, the PG259QWS Ace is the clear choice among the three. It adds Dolby Vision HDR and very high peak brightness, useful if you run HDR-enabled competitive titles or want higher HDR headroom.

If you want OLED color and contrast but want to trade some top-end refresh for panel durability and cost control, the QD-OLED XG259QDPG Ace at 560Hz will be a middle ground with ASUS' BlackShield treatment. The 360Hz XG259QDNS Ace targets a lower price bracket while keeping many of the same panel treatments.
