A Better Way to Talk About ...

The useful part

Etiquette, Vaccination, and More Twice yesterday, I encountered two of my favorite commentators urging a more self-interested discussion of two things America would do much better with more of: etiquette and vaccination. Both were a breath of fresh air, but I'll start with the one that mildly surprised me, although it really shouldn't have. The questioner looked away, but may not have escaped detection, and so wondered if a greeting was in order.

How it works

• While it does comport with my typical inclinations, it's nice to have that underscored with an explicit connection to the real value of etiquette:

Details worth keeping

That would be tiresome, on top of being awkward and unpleasant. That it helps us lead our own lives more smoothly.
