It's been a long and rather trying wait since Christmas, but we're finally returning to the rolling Yorkshire Dales to reunite with our favorite TV family. It is spring 1946 and, unlike in the Season 6 premiere, when Siegfried was the only person permanently living at Skeldale, the house is now full of life again. While peace has returned to the world, life in Darrowby certainly has not grown quiet.

• What many viewers might be most interested in, however, is where things stand between Siegfried and Skeldale's very own fairy godmother, Audrey Hall.
• Season 6 spent much of its time reminding us just how indispensable Mrs Hall has become to Siegfried, gradually bringing the two closer together.
• Though he seems to have rather a lot in common with a certain senior vet, we suspect Siegfried will be none too thrilled about his presence.
• Tristan, meanwhile, is rather impressed by their new colleague, while James starts to question his own abilities.
