Players perform their regular raids. During the month, Cena's village will appear for players to discover. The more raids that locate and successfully beat the base, the greater the collective chance that participating players will unlock event rewards. One highlighted reward is a one-time-only Cody Rhodes statue that can be added to a player's village, but it is tied to successful raids against Cena's base.
Cody Rhodes' role and WWE participation
John Cena appears in the campaign advertising and is quoted directly in the release: "People think this started in the ring with Cody. It didn't. It started when I out-raided him in the game and he threw me off his team. Ten years later he still needs help. This time he's asking millions of you to take on my base. That's fine. As I have always said – if you want some, come get some."
WWE Superstars transformed into Clash heroes
Six WWE figures have been reimagined as Clash of Clans Hero characters for the event:
- Cody Rhodes as Barbarian King
- Alexa Bliss as Archer Queen
- Warden
- IYO SKY as Royal Champion
- Jey Uso as Minion Prince
- Kane as Dragon Duke
These character skins and representations are available in the event and appear alongside other temporary WWE-themed features.
Event elements include temporary troops, a WWE-branded village theme, and WWE chests. Chests contain rewards such as Action Figure Equipment, Challenge Tickets, and a guaranteed Cody Rhodes skin. The branded village theme is explicitly tied to WWE Money in the Bank, scheduled for October 10 in New Orleans.
The release is issued by Supercell (the developer of Clash of Clans) and contains a brief corporate description of Supercell's games. WWE's corporate profile appears as well, noting its global distribution and family-friendly programming. The collaboration is framed as a continuation of prior WWE-Clash of Clans crossovers.
This is a monthlong, promotional crossover that converts a real-world WWE rivalry into an in-game raid challenge and offers cosmetic and collectible rewards in exchange for player participation. It leverages wrestler personas and a shared gaming history between Cody Rhodes and John Cena to drive traffic and engagement during September, with a visible promotional tie to a WWE live event in October.
