Designboom’s practical guide to Paris Design Week 2026: what to see in and out of Maison&Objet

The citywide program spreads across four districts, with work staged in museums, historic buildings, galleries, boutiques and public spaces. Maison&Objet Pulse groups new products, immersive spaces, and curated programs into seven sectors, including initiatives for emerging designers and materials. Valencia-based studio Masquespacio created the visual identity and installations for both the fair and the city program.

Curated by Jean-Baptiste Durand and Simon Geringer, the Factory consolidates emerging practices across four Marais venues. The program intentionally mixes design, art and craft:

• Espace Commines (17 rue Commines): a scenography organized like a photographic studio, presenting about 40 proposals with each piece isolated and framed for sculptural presence.
• 116 rue de Turenne (Galerie Joseph): a more experimental layout that lets objects and practices overlap and enter dialogue.
• 10 rue de Turenne: China Creative Pavilion presenting BON GOÛT! GOODTASTE!, bringing designers and creators working across design, materials and gastronomy.
• 16 rue des Minimes: a presentation of established designers and publishers focused on contemporary design and craftsmanship.

Designboom runs a temporary home at 72 Rue des Archives. The venue functions as a meeting point during the week and hosts:

• Programming across the week including 11 podcast sessions produced with INDX|Global and a Topology x Clarks workshop.

Selected exhibitions and installations

• Hanjimania at Hôtel de la Marine: a collaboration between French and Korean designers that centers hanji, the traditional Korean paper made through a centuries-old craft practice. The show pairs six French designers with Korean craft and design perspectives (Hôtel de la Marine, dates within the week).

• Prioritise the Marais Factory venues if you want a concentrated experience of emerging designers.

• Schedule time for site-specific installations like Joseph Walsh's sculptural work at Hôtel de Sully, which remains on view after the main week.

Paris Design Week 2026 combines a large trade fair program at Villepinte with a citywide festival of exhibitions and site-specific work. Use the Factory cluster in the Marais and the designboom temporary venue as anchor points, then add one or two larger installations or museum shows that extend beyond the core dates.
