Useful takeaways from this story.

MoonWillow occupies roughly one-third of a Full private region and is designed by Mille Bliss as a lush, mythical realm laid out along a west–east axis with the landing point on a small island at the west end.

# Overview MoonWillow is a compact, deliberately mysterious fantasy setting built by Mille Bliss. It takes up about one-third of a Full private region and runs along the southern side of its host region on a west–east axis. The landing point sits on a small island at the west end.

The design prioritises exploration and photography. The shared environment used by the reviewer appeared darker than ideal, so some images were taken with a personal Day EEP setting.

# Getting started

Crossing the water is intended to be done by a local ferry, but signs at piers explain the ferry is currently broken. The temporary route uses magical lily pads placed across the water to keep feet dry.

# What to see and how to move around The build offers many intersecting paths so you can take multiple routes and still find your way back to points of interest. Key places described in the visit:

  • Castle and hilltop routes: trails climb into hills with multiple intersecting options that either lead directly to the castle or circle through caverns and sheltered avenues.
  • Hidden features: caverns hinting at ritual spaces, a waterside spot for quiet sitting, tree- and rock-sheltered climbs, and a magical stone circle.

The layout encourages turning down lesser paths: many smaller features reward the detour and are likely to be missed by a straight route to the obvious sights.

# Nymunarby: the connected adjunct Traveling far enough east leads to a many-bridged path with falls and water that approaches an old mine and passage through cliffs. This area, called Nymunarby, is the work of Lotte (Lotte Warwillow) and sits as a mist-shrouded counterpart to MoonWillow.

# Practical tips

  • If you plan photography, join the MoonWillow group for rezzing rights so you can set up props. Always pick up props after use.

# Final impression MoonWillow is structured to reward slow, curious exploration. The interlaced paths, small hidden spaces, and the adjacent Nymunarby area provide a range of moods within a single visit. For photographers and explorers who enjoy layered builds with multiple routes, MoonWillow offers a compact, varied experience.

A Dancing Rabbit and a country walk in Second Life

Since 2022, I’ve run an occasional series on the coffeehouses and cafés of Second Life. I’m by no means the first to do so, and it is a popular subject. Most recently, the September 7, 2026 Destination Guide highlights featured The Dancing Rabbit. This is a café I dropped into back in May 2025 whilst … Continue reading

Of a Grumpy Troll and Two Loons in Second Life

This is going to be a slightly café and coffeehouse piece this time around. For one thing, it is as much about the journey as it is the destinations. The other is that strictly speaking, one of my selected destinations is neither a café nor a coffeehouse but a wine bar – although a good … Continue reading Of a Grumpy T

Exploring Cedar Trails in Second Life

Sitting on the west coast of Satori is Cedar Trails, a Full region presenting an Oregon coast themed region-wide park. The work of Artie Huntsman (Fresita Doll), it is a location I found out about via the SL Trailblazer Atlas, which I recently covered in these pages. However, the fact that I did should not … Continue r

Time in a curious museum in Second Life

So, a brief Exploring Second Life this time around – but hopefully a quirky and fun one, featuring a rather unusual and a little small destination. Museums are a popular form of expression in Second Life – and rightly so; Second Life is recognised as a valid tool for education, and museums are an ideal … Continue readi
