Warframe’s Iceblade of Narin update: what was revealed at TennoVIP and what players need to know

Digital Extremes revealed the Iceblade of Narin update during its TennoVIP community devstream. The update is scheduled to arrive on September 23 and is being released across all supported platforms. The announcement covers a mix of playable content, mission changes, new enemy types, and in-game events.

The headline addition is Narin, the 66th Warframe. Narin is identified as the franchise's first female ice Frame and is designed around crowd-control mechanics. Alongside the Frame come three signature weapons: the Nunchasa Bow and a pair of dual ice pistols called Aksondol. Six-player missions: Glacial Defiance

One of the bigger mechanical changes is the introduction of Glacial Defiance, a six-player squad gameplay mode. Existing missions will be revamped to support six-player squads rather than the typical four, with adjusted enemy scaling and fresh rewards aimed at teams that play together regularly. The devstream framed this as a way to expand cooperative options and provide content tailored to larger groups.

Players will encounter new enemy variants as part of the update. Entropic Eximus variants can appear throughout Zariman missions once players unlock Melica's Labroom, introducing new threats and loot routes. Mission redesigns for six-player support and the addition of new enemy behaviors intend to change encounter pacing and team roles.

The update ties into a larger slate of scheduled activity. Digital Extremes plans an in-game community event — Epoch Operation: Taubound — connected to Iceblade of Narin content, with a related start date in October (reported as October 15). The update period also coincides with a Citrine Prime Access drop, which was listed among other summer announcements during the stream.

If you play solo or in small groups: mission remixes for six players won't remove existing four-player options, but they will introduce higher-reward content designed for larger squads.
