DEV Community OpenAI has introduced GPT-6 Astra, a new generation of intelligence that is beginning with a limited rollout to organizations before expanding across ChatGPT and major cloud platforms. According to OpenAI's official GPT-6 Astra announcement, Astra will become available soon to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, as well as through the OpenAI API, Microsoft Azure, and AWS Bedrock. Astra is positioned for computer-use tasks and multi-step work, including form filling, CRM updates, research, coding, and website creation.
OpenAI says Astra is included within existing subscription allowances, with additional usage credits available for purchase. That multi-channel approach gives organizations several ways to evaluate the model. A team may start inside ChatGPT for defined tasks, while a software team can assess API access for repeatable processes that need to connect with existing tools.
