What should a community look like?

The useful part

There must have been traditional delicacies, loud, happy murmurs, lights and music, people you love, and everything to set the mood for a joy-filled celebration. You must have spent days planning the presents and outfits for this gathering, and you will spend days reminiscing about the happy memories. Now, if you step out of your beautiful world, many realities render it imperfect.

How it works

• The underserved sections of society are the worst hit by this cycle of survival, which forces them into undesirable conditions.
• Every day becomes a new normal for them, so it's hard to wonder if there's any little space left for them to celebrate like the rest of the world.
• For their children, who are forced to grow up quickly in such challenging environments, carrying the normalised deprivations- they deserve to celebrate, receive happiness and love just like everyone else.
• That brings us to the more important question: what can we do to send some happiness their way too?
• We can make small contributions towards a big goal only with each other's help.

What to take from it

Unless we make the most vulnerable a visibly active part of our society, there's no such thing as a unified society or a thriving communit...

Details worth keeping

Was it a family gathering or a community festival? After all, what is a celebration if not gathering with your loved ones? The rest often come up with pity or worse, exploitation.
