Rapid KL to begin phased track replacement on Kelana Jaya Line from Sept 13, 2026

Rapid KL will carry out phased replacement of tracks on the Kelana Jaya Line starting Sunday, Sept 13, 2026. The programme consists of seven phases scheduled on specified Sundays and is expected to finish by September 2027. Work focuses on replacing existing rails and associated maintenance so the line remains safe and reliable.

Rapid KL will provide free shuttle buses connecting affected stations during the works. Station staff, auxiliary police and Prasarana Troopers will be present at impacted and interchange stations. Signboards and information leaflets will be available to guide passengers.

Phasing and affected stations (dates provided by Rapid KL)

Phase 1 — Sept 13, 20 and 27, 2026: Taman Melati and Gombak Phase 2 — Nov 15, 22 and 29, 2026: Universiti, Kerinchi and Abdullah Hukum Phase 3 — Jan 10, 17 and 24, 2027: Dato' Keramat, Jelatek and Setiawangsa Phase 4 — March 14, 21 and 28, 2027: Universiti, Kerinchi and Abdullah Hukum Phase 5 — May 9, 16 and 23, 2027: Masjid Jamek, Dang Wangi, Kampung Baru, KLCC and Ampang Park Phase 6 — July 11, 18 and 25, 2027: Taman Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi and Abdullah Hukum Phase 7 — Sept 12, 19 and 26, 2027: Taman Melati and Gombak

Rapid KL says sections with long curves take more time, which is why some work extends into the morning. Trains serving stations not included in a phase will operate according to normal daily timetables. The replacement covers both physical track replacement and related maintenance tasks necessary for safe operation.

• Use Touch 'n Go or Rapid KL cards where possible to avoid ticket-machine delays at affected stations.
