Hyundai Motor India inaugurated public 120 kW DC fast-charging stations in New Delhi on World EV Day 2026, expanded its app-enabled charging network and outlined service and sales training targets to support EV adoption.
The myHyundai app gives access to over 38,000 charging points through partner networks and supports discovery, navigation, advance booking and payments.
HMIL is investing in service and sales readiness: 2,600 trained dealership EV service staff to date, plans for 5,000 more by end FY26-27, and a sales training target of 17,000+ personnel.
# What Hyundai announced
Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) opened public 120 kW DC fast-charging stations in New Delhi on World EV Day 2026. The new stations are part of HMIL's broader charging strategy that combines proprietary chargers, third-party partnerships and an app-based interface for drivers.
HMIL has invested in preparing its dealer network for electric vehicles. So far it reports about 2,600 trained dealership personnel across EV service roles and aims to train an additional 5,000 service staff by the end of financial year 2026–27. The training covers high-voltage safety, EV diagnostics, battery handling and repair procedures, and HMIL says it has delivered roughly 16,000 person-days of EV service training.
Workshops have been fitted with specialised tools and safety equipment such as insulated tools, battery-handling trolleys and PPE kits. On the sales side, HMIL reports over 10,000 sales personnel trained to date, targeting more than 17,000 by the end of FY26-27 to support customer guidance during purchase decisions.
HMIL's current electric vehicle lineup mentioned alongside the charging announcement includes the IONIQ 5 and the Creta Electric. The company plans to introduce a localized SUV electric model, and broader product plans announced at its CEO Investor Day include multiple launches through 2030.
The new Delhi chargers add higher-power public options for owners of capable EVs, reducing charging time compared with lower-power public units. The combined approach—adding proprietary chargers, integrating partner networks and strengthening workshop and sales readiness—aims to reduce friction for customers during ownership and purchase.
