BMW M launches six Nürburgring 100th anniversary special editions for Australia

BMW M is marking the Nürburgring's 100th anniversary with a limited-edition range called the M 100 Jahre Nürburgring. The lineup covers six performance models — M2, M3 Sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupé, M5 Sedan and M5 Touring — and BMW has confirmed all of them will be available to order in Australia.

The most visible change across the range is a new Nürburgring Green paint finish developed for this edition. Buyers can also choose Black Sapphire metallic. Each car receives circuit-inspired graphics that include the Nordschleife silhouette, a '100' anniversary logo and 'Nürburgring since 1927' lettering. Graphic placement varies by model and can appear on front doors, C-pillars and rear side sections. Roof graphics feature BMW M stripes and other anniversary-specific designs.

Exterior details extend to green accents applied to wheel faces and kidney grille surrounds, while the overall palette mixes light grey, green and black elements specific to the edition.

Model-specific equipment highlights

• M2: M carbon roof, carbon bucket seats, black Nordschleife embroidery on the front head restraints, and high-gloss black 930 M wheels.

• M3 Touring: the same wheel treatment as the sedan and coupe but retains a steel roof instead of carbon.

Interior touches include black Nordschleife embroidery on the front head restraints across the range.

BMW M frames the range with the tagline "Born on the Racetrack. Made for the Streets," connecting its motorsport development work on the Nürburgring with its road-going performance cars. BMW M CEO Frank van Meel commented that the Nürburgring is "much more than just a racetrack for us. It is a second home for BMW M," and said all production vehicles are put through their paces on the Nordschleife.

Availability and unanswered details

BMW has confirmed the anniversary models will be available to order in Australia but has not yet provided local pricing, specifications or order timelines. The company also has not disclosed how many examples of each model will be produced or whether Australia will receive a fixed allocation. BMW Australia is expected to announce further details closer to the cars' arrival.
