Big Man Labs Updates Big Notes to v1.0.2 - Hardware Recall and Notes Plugin

Big Man Labs has released version 1.0.2 of Big Notes, a session documentation/notes plugin for recalling hardware setups inside a DAW. Big Notes lets engineers keep photos and written notes on the track they belong to. Each instance generates its own QR code: scan it with a phone, photograph the compressor settings, mic placement, pedal board or patch, and the image lands in the plugin over the local network with no cables or file transfers.

How it works

• Up to four photo slots per instance, each with independent zoom, pan and rotation, alongside a text area for gain staging, signal chain details and mix decisions.
• Everything saves with the session, so opening a project months later brings back the settings the recording was made with.
• Version 1.0.2 fixes text input problems on Linux and focus issues in Reaper on macOS that could prevent typing into the notes.
• The image section is now collapsible, matching the text section, so the plugin can be reduced to a compact strip on the track.
