Astera QuikBeam Connect: A Track-Mounted Fresnel with 13–60° Zoom and RGBMA Color Mixing

Astera repackages its compact QuikBeam Fresnel into a track light housing for permanent indoor installation, keeping the same optics, RGBMA engine, and high CRI while adding track compatibility and integrated power options.

Useful takeaways from this story.

QuikBeam Connect is the existing QuikBeam Fresnel adapted for standard lighting track housings, aimed at fixed indoor installations.

The fixture retains the 13–60° Fresnel zoom, RGBMA color mixing, CRI 96+ performance, and wireless/wired DMX control used across the Quik family.

Power over Ethernet is supported for runs up to 100 m, and the Connect adapter integrates AC power into the track-mounted housing—no external brick required.

How it fits with the rest of the Quik family

The Connect drops into standard track systems. Astera lists compatibility with EUTRACK MultiAdapter and H-Type versions. The adapter contains the AC supply so the fixture does not require an external power brick or trailing cable. The QuikBeam family also supports Power over Ethernet on runs up to 100 m (328 ft), which allows users to remove the QuikBrick battery and run both data and power down a single cable in permanent installs.

Control, ergonomics, and on-set behavior

Pan, tilt, and zoom can be physically locked after aiming. The Quik family supports wireless CRMX and wired DMX, plus control through the AsteraApp. Astera demonstrated how a single inventory of fixtures can serve multiple set purposes: podcast setups, two-person interviews, and broadcast looks were reconfigured rapidly using only Astera fixtures, without moving their positions. That workflow relies on the shared control and output behavior across sizes.

Acoustic and thermal considerations

Most Astera lights have no fan and depend on the housing to move heat, according to the company. Where fans are present, the lights include settings to regulate fan speed. The QuikBeam's low power draw means less waste heat to manage compared with higher-draw fixtures, which reduces cooling demands and potential fan noise in microphone-sensitive environments.

Practical takeaways for buyers and users

If you already own QuikBeams, the Connect lets you use the same light in a ceiling-mounted, track-mounted role. For new installations, the Connect reduces visible cabling because the adapter integrates power and accepts track mounting standards. Facilities that must shift a room between formats can use a mix of Quik sizes to achieve different looks without re-rigging. PoE support on QuikBeam fixtures is an option for runs where a single-cable solution is preferred.

Fresnel into a track-mounted fixture while keeping its optical range, color engine, and control ecosystem. It's designed for installed broadcast, podcast, or multi-use spaces where the benefits of shared fixture behavior and simplified cabling matter.
