People used to think that black cats were companions to evil witches, and that's why they were so afraid of them. Of course, those witches they were so afraid of usually were healers, midwives, or maybe just a woman who dared to think for herself. Yeah, if those were the same people who disliked black cats, we know better now than to listen to any of their craziness.
