Listen to Theology Refresh → Most people in the world have no experience of lasting joy in their lives. All of our resources exist to guide you toward everlasting joy in Jesus Christ. A lot of our neighbors deal with tree roots in their drain lines that have to be cleared out once a year.
Now with this new trouble, David reached back for the song he wrote outside that cave — love above the heavens, faithfulness to the clouds. As I studied Psalm 108 this week (and did a couple loads of laundry), all those clogs came to mind again, because they're a picture of verse 12: "Oh grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man!" The salvation of man is like a horrible triple clog, flooding the house over and over and over again. Piles and piles of doctor visits, and the problem still won't go away.
