It is based on Mick Herron 's Slough House novels, of which there are nine, and Season 6 adapts two of the books.
That's not surprising given that Season 6 just premiered on September 16, and even with the early renewals this drama gets, that would be very much ahead of schedule. While it's too soon to speculate as to the exact time of the year, chances are it would be 2029. Season 1 premiered in April 2022, Season 2 in December 2022, Season 3 in November 2023, Season 4 in September 2024, Season 5 in September 2025, and Season 6 now in September 2026.
