The popular chicken-finger chain opened Monday at 211 Jefferson Street, joining a cluster of new and returning businesses in the Wharf’s ongoing revitalization.

Raising Cane’s opened its first San Francisco location at 211 Jefferson Street on Fisherman’s Wharf with opening-day promotions and long lines.
The restaurant is heavily San Francisco branded inside and sits near other fast-food openings at the Wharf, including In-N-Out and Taco Bell Cantina.
Raising Cane’s has a simple menu (3/4/6-piece combos with Cane’s Sauce, fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and a fried chicken sandwich) and is expanding rapidly—over 1,000 locations and 100 openings this year.
Raising Cane's opened its first San Francisco restaurant on Monday at 211 Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf. The shop sits about a block east of the In‑N‑Out and the Taco Bell Cantina that already draw attention at the Wharf.
The new location attracted lines when doors opened. A PR representative said the first customer began lining up Sunday morning. Opening-day promotions included a Lucky 20 drawing that awarded 20 early customers with free Raising Cane's for a year. The first 100 customers to order a combo meal received a Raising Cane's trucker hat and a free box combo card. The very first person in line received a one-of-a-kind gift basket.
What the restaurant offers and branding
The interior is heavily San Francisco branded with murals and other local touches. Menu-wise, Raising Cane's keeps things simple: combo meals come with three, four, or six chicken fingers served with Cane's Sauce, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, and Texas toast. The chain also offers a fried chicken sandwich, but otherwise the menu remains focused on chicken fingers.
Context on the chain and local expansion
Raising Cane's started in Baton Rouge in 1996 and has grown quickly. The chain now has more than 1,000 locations and opened roughly 100 new restaurants this year. It plans first international locations in the UK and Mexico in 2027. In the Bay Area, the chain opened its first nearby location in Oakland four years ago.
A second San Francisco Raising Cane's is expected to open soon at Stonestown Mall (255 Winston Drive). The Wharf location arrived first. The new Cane's joins a string of openings and reopenings at Fisherman's Wharf as the neighborhood stages a partial comeback. Recent and upcoming changes at the Wharf include:
