KRAFTON India released Real Cricket 5.3 with a new competitive micro-format and several quality-of-life updates. The headline addition is One-Over Duel, an asynchronous player-versus-player mode that compresses an entire contest into a single six-ball over. The update also brings a new multiplayer season, a redesigned multiplayer player card UI, and squad updates tied to active international tournaments and leagues.
One-Over Duel is a one-over batting contest played asynchronously. Each player takes a turn batting their own six-ball over. The player who scores more runs across that over wins. An innings can end early if a player loses two wickets.
Winning duels awards XP and milestone rewards tied to the mode, giving a quick path to competitive progression without committing to a longer match.
Anuj Sahani, Head of KRAFTON Incubator Program and Director of Publishing at KRAFTON India, framed the change around scheduling friction: getting two players online at the same time is the hardest part of competitive mobile play. One-Over Duel removes that barrier by letting players challenge and respond on their own schedule.
This approach targets players who want head-to-head competition but cannot commit to real-time matches. The short format also reduces the time commitment needed to participate in competitive play while providing tangible rewards through XP and milestones.
The Real Cricket 5.3 update is live for Android and iOS users. KRAFTON India packaged the micro-competitive mode alongside UI and roster changes to encourage both short-session engagement and continued multiplayer progression.
