Inside the 2028 Bentley Torcal: what Bentley changed for its first electric SUV

If audio performance matters, Bentley offers a 1780-watt Naim sound system distributed through 28 speakers. The panoramic sunroof includes dimmable sections and also opens, combining light control with the option for open-air ventilation.

Bentley states the Torcal will cost less than the $230,000 Bentayga. The EV is scheduled to go on sale early next year, positioning it as Bentley's entry into electrified luxury SUVs without exceeding the Bentayga's top price.

Bentley's Torcal shares a platform with the Porsche Cayenne Electric. Bentley presented an S version—the Torcal S—as the sportiest variant, quoting 876 horsepower and 996 pound-feet of torque. Bentley also claims the Torcal S is the most powerful and quickest production Bentley to date, with a 0–60 mph time of about 2.8 seconds.

Bentley specifies a 108-kWh battery for the Torcal and says fast-charging capability allows a 10–80% recharge in roughly 16 minutes when using a 400-kW connection. That charging figure is part of Bentley's effort to make the EV usable for long-distance driving.

Buyers looking for a Bentley-like cabin with modern EV capabilities will find a mix of old and new: traditional materials and tactile controls paired with sophisticated ambient lighting, a high-end audio package, and fast charging. Pricing below the Bentayga sets the Torcal as an accessible route into Bentley's electric lineup, while the Torcal S targets buyers who want maximum performance.
