Acme Packing Company projects the 48 active players for Green Bay’s Thursday Night Football matchup, with one roster decision hinging on the fifth defensive lineman.

Four players already ruled out for Thursday simplify roster choices: Jayden Reed, Zach Bako-Bewele, Aaron Banks and Warren Brinson are inactive.
The only unsettled spot is the 48th active player — likely a defensive lineman: Javon Hargrave, Anthony Campbell, or practice-squad call-up Eric Johnson II.
Receiver responsibilities shift with Reed out: Skyy Moore will handle slot duties, and Bo Melton could mix in with X/slot snaps alongside Matthew Golden.
# Quick summary
# Inactives already confirmed
These absences reduce complexity at receiver, along the offensive line, and on the defensive front.
# Projected active roster by group
With Reed out, Skyy Moore steps in as the backup slot who should take Reed's snaps. Bo Melton, normally Golden's backup at X, could split time with Moore and provide multi-role snaps if the staff mixes packages.
Travis Glover is likely to be active for the first time this season. Banks and Bako-Bewele are out with injuries.
This is the primary roster decision for Week 3.
# What to watch on game day
# Bottom line Confirmed injuries make most gameday decisions routine. The Packers' Week 3 active roster will depend mainly on one defensive-line activation. Unless the team surprises with a non-DL elevation, the active list will mirror the groups above and center on how Green Bay manages that final defensive-lineman slot.

A couple of weeks ago, we did an exercise on what the Green Bay Packers’ game-day roster would look like, and I want to update that projection for Week 2 based on new information we have. To recap, here was my prediction on how the Packers would drop their 53-man active roster to their 48-man […]

A lot of focus has been put on the Green Bay Packers’ 53-man roster recently, and I don’t blame people for looking at it — since we just had roster cutdowns. To me, though, there are really three different versions of the roster: Today, I want to talk about the 48-man game-day roster. A lot […]

The Green Bay Packers' initial 53-man roster is set. Here are three players whose spots may remain in jeopardy.

The Green Bay Packers made a couple of changes to their offensive and defensive lineups for Week 3, as the team is desperately trying to find their first win in regulation since Week 14 last year against the Chicago Bears. The loss to the Atlanta Falcons was gross, and I’m hoping to flush it from […]

A 53-man roster isn’t the only thing that NFL teams need to decide on this week. The league’s cutdown deadline from 90 to 53 will come and go on Sunday afternoon, and on Monday it will be time for teams to begin assembling the other major piece of their rosters: the practice squad. Over the […]

The Green Bay Packers updated their depth chart on Tuesday, the first time that they’ve done so going into the 2026 regular season. For the most part, it looks accurate, based on our charting of preseason and training camp rotations, but there were a few things that stood out to me — so I want […]
