Ottobrata Monticiana returns to Monti: three days of music, theatre, exhibitions and a city-wide game (9–11 October 2026)

Many smaller venues and streets across Rione Monti host roving performances, exhibitions and workshops.

# Weekend highlights (selected)

Saturday 10 October: readings and theatre in the main square, including sonnets by Prof. Gianni Sega and Fabrizio Giannini's theatre piece "Tutte le buche portano a Roma." Evening music includes Tiziana Salzano and the Fuori Rotta Band.

Sunday 11 October: concerts and a lottery draw close the festival, with performances by Monti singers, Stefy Camboni, and Massimo Mattia & Greta Mattia.

Across the three nights Largo Visconti Venosta hosts jazz and swing sets such as Sestetto Afternine, Les Lunettes and Interno 7 Jazz Band.

• Yarn Bombing textile installation at the Cavour metro exit, Piazza della Suburra

# Activities for all ages The festival offers workshops, guided tours and roving shows such as Rugantino & Rosetta, Lodi Circus and period-costumed dance by Società di Danza. There are workshops open to all ages and exhibitions positioned to be accessible throughout the weekend.

# City Adventure: a neighbourhood game

# Background and community roots Ottobrata Monticiana began after AS Roma's 1983 Scudetto, an initiative of Prof. Adolfo Cecilia and the Associazione culturale ricreativa e sportiva Rione Monti. It was created to preserve Monti's traditions and bring together residents who had moved away. The event has continued as a local tradition welcoming both long-time Monticians and visitors.
