Meta also announced Meta VR Glasses with a tethered puck, a 100-gram headset weight, full-color passthrough, 5K display, Dolby Vision and Atmos support, and a spring launch price starting at $1,300.

Ray-Ban Meta audio-only glasses and refreshed camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta models were updated: audio-only starts at $349, camera models start at $449 with a 12MP camera and longer battery life.

# What Meta announced

At its annual Connect event Mark Zuckerberg used a "one more thing" moment to unveil the Muse Charm, a handheld AI companion roughly the size of an Apple Watch. Meta positions it as a fast, always-available way to talk to Muse, the company's AI agent.

# How the Muse Charm is described

Meta's comments focused on three practical points: compact hardware, on-device real-time voice interaction, and an always-available interface. The device packages Muse's voice and avatar stack into a pocket-sized form factor that the company demonstrated as a simple tap-to-talk keychain.

Connect centered largely on glasses and mixed-reality hardware beyond the Muse Charm:

  • Meta VR Glasses: A lightweight tethered headset that Meta says weighs 100 grams—about five times lighter than the company's Quest 3. It supports full-color passthrough, a 5K display, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and up to three hours of continuous high-resolution media playback on one charge. Meta says the glasses will run every Quest game, support Xbox Cloud Gaming, and can connect to a PC or Mac for virtual keyboard and trackpad control. Launch is planned for spring with a starting price of $1,300.
  • Ray-Ban Meta audio-only glasses: New audio-only Ray-Ban smart glasses that support calls and media playback. Battery life is up to 12 hours on a single charge and the charging case adds up to 48 hours. Pre-orders are open and shipments begin October 13, starting at $349.
  • Ray-Ban Meta camera glasses: A refreshed third-generation camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta remains on the market. Updates include a slimmer design, a dedicated Meta AI activation button, longer battery life (around nine hours), a six-microphone array that Meta says reduces over 90 percent of background noise, and a 12MP camera that supports 3K video capture. Prices start at $449.

# Hearing feature and subscription

Meta will add an FDA-cleared hearing enhancement feature to its AI Glasses later this year. Users can access it through a Meta One subscription or buy it as a one-time add-on for $149. A 30-day free trial will be available.

# Where this fits in the market

The Muse Charm follows other small AI hardware efforts that aim to make agent-style assistants constantly available without tying users to a phone. Meta packaged that idea with a small avatar, voice model, and hardware activation. Beyond the Charm, Meta positioned its new glasses as both gaming and media devices with improved portability and battery-life tradeoffs.

Meta pushing small, wearable, and pocketable devices tied to its Muse AI and its broader hardware lineup.
