Celebrating his 80th birthday Thursday, Greene appeared on 93.7 The Fan to share why the first Super Bowl means so much to him. Tough, physical, and no longer defined by its past record. Founded in 1933, the Steelers had little success throughout their first 35 years. Pittsburgh was better known as lovable losers with far more interest in its baseball counterpart.
All four are special but the first one is impossible to top. Steelers had not been noted for being a winning team. That changed once Chuck Noll and Joe Greene arrived in 1969.
