The useful part
Kaizen DSP has released the commercial version of Choroboros, a chorus and modulation plugin for macOS. Version 1.0.5 includes five prebuilt engines, 17 supplied sound cores and Create, a workspace for building custom engines and interfaces. Each has two sound cores, covering classic chorus, clean width, vintage character, experimental modulation and ensemble textures.
How it works
- Create adds seven more supplied cores and lets users choose one or two cores, modify sound recipes and pair them with supplied artwork or their own visual assets.
- Users can build their own artwork packs and save or share custom engines.
- Choroboros also includes 26 custom looks, with downloadable backgrounds, knobs, switches and sliders.
- An email-verified 30-day trial unlocks Blue, Red, Black and Create, with the trial period starting on first activation.
- After the trial, the plugin returns to its free Green and Purple engines while retaining presets and project settings.
What to take from it
The full licence is $49.99 USD as a one-time purchase, with lifetime updates and a 30-day refund policy. Commercial Windows and Linux releases are planned but are not currently available.
