September 2026. The awards recognize outstanding Drupal-powered websites, applications, and digital solutions across categories such as design, UX, commerce, government services, healthcare, education, and community impact. This edition received 40% more submissions than 2025 and returned with a larger international field of entries.
A jury of independent experts in web design, user experience, open source development, and digital strategy evaluated projects on concept, execution, emotional appeal, accessibility, performance, innovation, and social relevance.

AI and content tooling: Multiple winners center on AI-enabled interactions (in-page editing, answer engines, AI-powered search). That shows organizations are integrating AI features into editorial tooling and public-facing services built on Drupal. Public-sector and civic services: Government entries used Drupal to deliver citizen-facing AI, auditable services, and consolidated platforms. The EPSO project and Pidpa example underline a focus on auditable, source-grounded answers and reducing contact center overhead.
The awards also spotlighted contributors who release modules, distributions, and tools back to the community, and those who support knowledge sharing through talks, mentoring, and training. Sponsors this year included eSepia, and Acquia conducted interviews around the event.
Organizers plan to continue the International Splash Awards in 2027. The awards will keep recognizing projects that respond to emerging challenges such as accessibility, privacy, sustainability, digital sovereignty, and user experience while using open source approaches.
