This variant uses the Big Crown reference with a 40mm multi-piece stainless steel case. The case measures 12.2mm thick with a 48.2mm lug-to-lug span and is water-resistant to 50 metres. Visual cues that identify it as a Big Crown include the knurled fluted bezel, the oversized screw-down crown and a double-domed sapphire crystal over the dial. The top surfaces of the lugs are brushed to contrast with the polished bezel.
The dial is a warm burgundy colour inspired by the autumn woods near Oris's Hölstein factory. It pairs with cathedral-style hands and a stylised Arabic numeral typeface that follow the model's vintage pilot-watch styling. Legibility remains a priority: the hour markers, hands and minute-track markers are treated with Super-LumiNova. The date is indicated by a central pointer hand with an inverted arrow tipped in red that tracks the peripheral date scale.
Inside the case is Oris calibre 754, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW200-1 with an added pointer-date module. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), offers a 41-hour power reserve, features hacking seconds (stop-seconds) and shows the brand's signature central red rotor.
This Big Crown Pointer Date x Cervo Volante is a special, non-limited edition and retails for CHF 2,250. Oris lists further details on its website.
Oris's collection since 1938 and exists in numerous sizes, materials and dial colours. This edition leans into the model's vintage, pilot-watch roots through its hands, numerals and dial treatment while adding a seasonal colourway and a leather option framed around a sustainability angle.
- The package blends classic Big Crown aesthetics with a burgundy dial that enhances the vintage cues.
- Movement and basic specs are consistent with existing 40mm Big Crown Pointer Date models: SW200-1 base movement, 41-hour reserve, 50m water resistance.
If you prefer compact or alternative Big Crown options, Oris also expanded the collection in 2026 with additional references, including a 29mm Pointer Date aimed at smaller wrists.
