A lot of them are celebrating anniversaries as well, like The Nectar, Sansibar, Whisky Agents… I have a dozen samples waiting and I decided to go for Bowmore first.
Bowmore 22 yo 2004 (49,2%, The Whisky Agency for ARen Trading 2026, first-fill barrel) Nose: starts mineral, on salt-laden sea air, along with some bread dough.
There's also lime, gooseberries, with flashes of pineapple and passion fruit syrup.
# What this comparison covers This brief compares three Bowmore single malts independently bottled by The Whisky Agency and released in 2026 for different partners: a 2004 22-year-old for ARen Trading, a 2008 17-year-old for Whisky Agents, and a 2006 20-year-old for The Nectar. All three have similar alcohol strengths and a clear shared note of tropical fruit, but they diverge in texture, cask character, and coastal/mineral expression.

# Bottom line All three are considered high-quality modern Bowmores with abundant tropical fruit notes. Differences are mainly in weight and cask-driven richness: the 2004 is the most delicate and mineral, the 2008 the most full-bodied and tropical, and the 2006 the most floral with subtle smoke. Availability varies by partner and retailer.

Normally when we're having whisky from the same distillery, we'll focus on a certain age or style. However today's Ardmore selection is quite wide, from 16 years of age to 41 years, with very different cask types as well. The trio comes from The Whisky Agency , the Thompson Brothers and Decadent Drinks .

Sansibar has just released a 15th Anniversary series . They have been on our radar since 2013 or so, first with the grey / gold labels, then Samurai releases, Highland clans and many more.It looks like they've kept aside some nice casks for this celebration: Clynelish 1993 and Glentauchers 1996, and then some 20+ year

We'll have the latest Maltbarn releases in one go, starting with a Blended Malt 1993 from a sherry cask. The other four whiskies are single malts with a clearly lighter colour.

We're looking at a few samples from Asian independent bottlers again. We're seeing Shinanoya, Lucky Choice, Kanpaikai and Mateo Art in different collabs. Two of the whiskies are from Ardbeg distillery, disclosed and undisclosed.

This is the third and last installment of the Zodiac series which was started in February 2026 by The Whisky Exchange. We'll be trying a Macduff, a Campbeltown blended malt and two pitch-dark sherry bombs from an undisclosed Speyside distillery and Bunnahabhain. The series now contains 12 bottlings, mostly middle-aged

Holyrood Smoulder is the latest limited edition from Holyrood distillery . It is a single malt created from a mash of 75% heavily peated Highland malt with smaller percentages of unpeated malt, plumage archer and brown malt. It was primarily aged in first-fill bourbon, with some rum barriques and Oloroso actives. More
