Berenjak, the London restaurant founded by chef Kian Samyani in 2018, will open a Chicago outpost in late September inside Soho House's Fulton Market property on North Green Street. The location is part of an existing collaboration model between Berenjak and Soho House that has produced residencies and spaces in New York and Los Angeles.
Berenjak was created as an homage to Samyani's memories of Tehran's kebab shops and family-style meals. The menu centers charcoal grills and large-format sharing plates. Expect traditional Persian elements: skewers of charcoal-grilled meats, cauldrons of lamb khoresht, spiced mezze, and baskets of crisp bread for sopping up sauces.
Within a year of opening in London, Berenjak earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation. The group has expanded beyond London with locations and residencies in the Middle East and the U.S. The Chicago site will be the brand's fourth permanent location and follows a 2024 Soho House residency at Dumbo House in New York and a garden-level location at Soho Warehouse in Los Angeles in August 2025.
Berenjak Chicago will add a beverage program that had been limited to the U.K. locations. The program includes an extended wine list and cocktails described in the restaurant's announcements, such as an olive leaf martini and a bubbly watermelon cocktail. Those elements aim to complement the high-heat, charcoal-driven food.
Although the restaurant is inside a private members' club, Berenjak Chicago will be open to the general public like Soho House Chicago's other public-facing outlets, The Allis and Fox Bar. The announcement highlights that diners will not need a Soho House membership to eat there.
Berenjak Chicago's address is 113–125 North Green Street, Chicago, IL 60607. The opening is scheduled for late September. The partnership that brought Berenjak to Chicago pairs the brand with Soho House and JKS Restaurants, the hospitality group best known for Gymkhana.
Arrive prepared to share dishes. The menu emphasizes communal plates assembled around charcoal-grilled proteins with sides and breads designed for dipping and scooping. The drink menu expands typical Persian-paired options with wine and cocktails that mix savory, herbal, and effervescent elements.
Berenjak adds another dedicated Iranian/ Persian-focused option to Chicago's dining scene and offers a charcoal-grill technique that foregrounds direct-fire flavors. Its presence inside a prominent Fulton Market location means it will be visible to both neighborhood diners and out-of-town visitors.
Berenjak Chicago will follow Soho House's model of operating both member and public-facing outlets. Specific menu prices and hours were not included in the announcement. For menus and reservations, the brand's website and Soho House channels are the expected points of contact.
