# What AMRC Connect is and why it exists
# What you can do on the platform The platform will include a general discussion area plus dedicated spaces for specific networks, projects and member groups such as CEOs. Practical uses called out in the launch announcement include:
- Start or continue discussions outside of meetings and ask questions within closed peer communities.
- Foster 1-to-1 connections to continue conversations started at events, connect with others in similar roles and explore collaborations.
- Access member-exclusive content and opportunities tied to AMRC activities.
# Migration of an existing discussion space AMRC will migrate the Research Management Working Group (RMWG) Teams channel into AMRC Connect after the platform is live. The migration will be timed to avoid disrupting any ongoing RMWG conversations. Current RMWG members will be contacted with more details about the migration process.
# session Members should expect an email on 1 October with instructions for signing up, getting started, and tips for making the most of AMRC Connect. To help members learn the platform, AMRC is running a live demo and Q&A at 12:00 on Tuesday 13 October. The session is positioned as a chance to explore the platform, see what you can do, and ask questions after you have tried AMRC Connect for yourself.
# Access control and membership
# Practical next steps for members
- Watch for the 1 October email with sign-up and onboarding steps.
- If you are part of RMWG, expect a follow-up about the Teams-to-Connect migration.
- Register for the 13 October demo and Q&A if you want a guided walkthrough before or after joining.
- Direct any immediate questions to membership@amrc.org.uk.
# Why this matters for members AMRC Connect centralizes member conversations and resources in a single platform. For staff who attend AMRC meetings and want to maintain momentum on topics, it reduces the need to rely only on event-based follow-up. For smaller or geographically dispersed charities, it creates a direct channel to reach colleagues across the network and to find targeted advice or collaboration opportunities.
