# What Berlin.rb is
# When and where
The first meetup is Tuesday, September 8, 2026, starting at 18:45. Location: Potsdamer Straße 121. Enter via the Grover entrance next to Rossmann and go to the third floor. After the inaugural event, Berlin.rb will meet on the second Tuesday of every month.
# Format and access
Events will be held in person with drinks and snacks provided. The evenings are hosted and sponsored (the first event is hosted and sponsored by ablefy). Every meetup will be livestreamed and talks will be published on YouTube afterwards, so participation does not require physical presence in Berlin.
# First talks announced
The organizer Carmine Paolino will give the first talk, titled "RubyLLM 2.0: Beyond Agents." Paweł Strzałkowski, CTO at Visuality, will deliver a second talk: "HiFuMi: The Story of Building an Online Rails Apps Generator." These two talks set a technical tone but the program will include shorter or less formal presentations as well.
# Relationship with existing groups
Berlin.rb is not replacing existing groups. Berlin already has RUG::B, the long-running Ruby user group. The organizers expect Berlin.rb to coexist with other meetups, offering a predictable monthly rhythm: pick the second Tuesday and put it in your calendar.
# Calls for speakers, hosts, and sponsors
Speakers: organizers want a range of talks — deep technical presentations, lightning talks about recent projects, and postmortems or production stories. First-time speakers are encouraged. To propose a talk, send a sentence or two to hello@berlinrb.org.
# Community and distribution
Berlin.rb is part of Ruby Europe, an umbrella network connecting Ruby communities across the continent and moving speakers between cities. The organizers maintain a website (berlinrb.org) and channels on YouTube and social platforms for published talks and updates.
