Motorola revealed the Moto Watch Ultra at IFA 2026 as a Wear OS smartwatch focused on fitness. The device pairs Motorola's hardware and Wear OS ecosystem with Polar's sports and sleep tracking algorithms, aiming to give workout and recovery features similar to what serious fitness users expect.
The Watch Ultra uses a 46mm stainless‑steel case and a 1.5‑inch OLED display. Motorola put Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1 inside. The company offers two strap families: a breathable silicone option and a leather band, each available in specific Pantone colorways. Motorola rates the watch for IP68 and 5ATM water protection and includes dual‑band GPS.
Motorola says the watch will last about two days with "active use" when the always‑on display is turned off. That gives typical multi‑day coverage but not the multi‑week endurance that some sport‑focused devices advertise.
Polar partnership and fitness features
Polar supplies the Watch Ultra's fitness and sleep algorithms. On the sleep side, the watch runs Polar features named Nightly Recharge and Sleep Plus Stages to calculate a sleep score and track recovery. For short breathing and calm routines, the Serene mode uses real‑time biofeedback to coach breathing cadence.
For active training, the watch includes Activity Goal, Activity Score, Active Intensity Zones, Smart Calories for daily calories burned, Inactivity Alert, and Energy Sources (metabolic insights). Motorola also highlights a Running Coach feature that guides pacing for walkers and runners, designed to help users manage pacing during workouts.
Wear OS, giving access to the Play Store and standard Wear OS integrations, and Motorola's own AI feature, Qira. It also supports Google Wallet and will tap into Wear OS app and service ecosystems for additional apps and connectivity.
Motorola confirmed the Moto Watch Ultra will go on sale starting September 10 for $349 at motorola.com, with Verizon carrying the device beginning September 24. Motorola said broader carrier availability (T‑Mobile, Metro by T‑Mobile, AT&T, Xfinity Mobile, Consumer Cellular) will follow in the coming months.
Motorola's Moto Watch Ultra presents a fitness‑oriented Wear OS option by combining a stainless‑steel build, a midrange Qualcomm chipset, and Polar's tracking suite. It balances smartwatch convenience with deeper sleep and training metrics at a $349 entry price and immediate online and carrier rollout plans.
