New offerings for 2026–27
TRENDBARK has added several concrete resources for its international group of members—interior designers, architects, in-house product professionals and independent practitioners.
- Research Desk: an evolving, interactive space that shares selected observations and focused research throughout the year, giving members access to in-progress material as well as finished publications and seminars.
- Trendbook Archive: a consolidated archive of previous years' trendbooks to provide context and help members assess how directions evolve over time.
- Color Directions 2028: a major research release that looks beyond single "colours of the year" to broader colour behaviours and their application across homes and contract interiors. The seminar and research materials are included inside the Studio.
Field research and geographic scope
Fieldwork remains central. Milan Design Week continues to be a key research moment resulting in an annual Milan Design Week Trendbook and seminar. Research has broadened to include other cities and markets, with explicit mention of extended work in Seoul and future Seoul-specific content for Studio members. This reflects a method that compares how ideas develop differently by place, culture and market.
Human-led research and member support
Who benefits and how to access
TRENDBARK Studio is aimed at professionals working with spatial design, product direction and market-facing work. The combination of continuous research, historical archives and mentoring is presented as useful for people who need both forward-looking guidance and grounded context. TRENDBARK Studio 2026–27 is open for new members, and the post includes a link to explore membership.
Practical implications for practitioners
Designers and product teams who rely on trends for specification, colour decisions or product direction can use the Research Desk for ongoing signals rather than only end-of-cycle forecasts. The Trendbook Archive supports decisions that need historical continuity. Color Directions 2028 supplies applied colour thinking across residential and contract contexts, including palettes and combinations. Direct mentoring makes it possible to adapt research to a given brief or market.
