At the 2026 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, AGCO's two brands introduced new planters aimed at distinct customer needs. Massey Ferguson focused on a modular, user-friendly planter platform with integrated precision planting hardware. Fendt aimed at very large-acreage operations with a wider, high-capacity planter designed to cut fill stops and maintain accurate placement across wide working widths.
Massey Ferguson N-Series: modular precision out of the factory
Massey Ferguson released the N-Series split/narrow-row planter with factory-installed PTx (AGCO's Precision Planting brand) technology. Key components included the 20|20 Gen3 agronomic mapping system, the vSet2 vacuum seed meter driven by an electric vDrive, and DeltaForce automated hydraulic downforce control. The N-Series carries twin 45-bushel central seed tanks and offers optional liquid fertiliser capacity up to 500 gallons, plus in-cab manual weight transfer.
Massey Ferguson's stated product aim is to deliver proven technology without added complexity, and the company emphasised straightforward ownership, operation, and maintenance while offering upgrade paths as operations grow.
Fendt Momentum 32R30: wide coverage, high capacity, contouring toolbar
Weight management is handled by Load Logic to distribute weight more evenly across the frame and reduce pinch rows. A new five-section Vertical Contouring Toolbar (VCT) replaces an earlier three-section design and lets individual row units follow terrain more closely, which Fendt says helps maintain consistent planting depth and uniform seed placement across the wider working width.
Massey Ferguson positioned the N-Series as a long-term value platform, aiming to give producers planting performance now with options to add features over time.
- If you operate very large-acreage farms and need fewer fill stops plus wide, consistent coverage, Fendt's Momentum 32R30 targets that need with high-capacity tanks and a wider toolbar.
- If you prefer a modular planter that comes pre-equipped with Precision Planting electronics and the ability to add features later, Massey Ferguson's N-Series gives a factory-installed technology baseline and narrower-row configurations to increase plant population.
Both machines underline AGCO's strategy of offering targeted solutions across different farm sizes and management preferences.
