# What this is
# Atlas
The market contains many offerings that use similar marketing language but deliver different technical approaches and risk profiles. Arion's founder Michael Fauscette said static comparison charts aren't sufficient, and that classification should be "grounded in how a product actually works, not how it markets itself." The Atlas applies that principle with a clear framework and documented evidence for each entry.
# How products are classified
Arion uses a Native vs. Embedded framework and applies five tests to decide a product's placement. The distinctions are practical:
- AI Embedded: AI is added to an existing solution to augment an established workflow rather than define the product.
The five tests cover dependency, architecture, origin, commercial structure, and interface. Each product also receives a confidence rating and a written rationale with public evidence linked.
# Agentic capability scale and filters
# Dynamic maintenance and vendor interaction
# Inclusion criteria
To appear on the Atlas a solution must:
- Be sold to enterprises with established security and compliance expectations.
- Be generally available today.
- Show evidence of real-world adoption.
- Be actively maintained.
Consumer-only tools, products on waitlists, and stealth vendors are excluded so the map focuses on solutions enterprise buyers can purchase and deploy now.
# Atlas Horizon: the watchlist
Arion also launched Atlas Horizon, a companion list that tracks AI-native companies still building enterprise proof and established platforms whose emerging AI features are shipping but not yet broadly enterprise-ready. Arion positions Horizon for corporate development teams, investors, and operators who want earlier visibility into emerging capabilities.
# Where to access and next steps
Enterprise AI Atlas is freely available to explore online at enterpriseaiatlas.ai. Vendors can submit products for review via the site. Each product entry on the Atlas includes the classification rationale and the public evidence that supports it, enabling buyers to see why a listing landed where it did.
The Atlas is positioned as a practical tool for buyers who need to match AI solutions to specific operational needs and risk tolerances rather than choose based on marketing language alone.
