Useful takeaways from this story.

Authority publishes original, author-identified content multiple times per week and structures it so AI answer systems can find and cite it.

Automated compliance checks flag mortgage advertising and fair lending issues, but clients retain responsibility for regulatory compliance.

The useful part

Vonk Digital has operated and refined Authority with several mortgage professionals since March 2026. Today's announcement brings the service to market formally, after building out the publishing system, compliance controls and detailed reporting on the product's back end. "Borrower research happens whether a mortgage professional participates or not," said Anthony Balsamo, Co-Founder of Vonk Digital.

How it works

  • "What is changing across the industry landscape is where that research starts.
  • Vonk's Authority combines traditional (SEO) with answer engine optimization (AEO), an emerging discipline focused on making information easier for AI-powered search and answer systems to understand,...
  • It includes niche-targeted articles, unique loan-program pages, state and city market pages, internal linking, and structured data that identifies the author as a licensed mortgage professional, including...
  • Clients receive an insights dashboard designed to show when AI systems crawl their website and when their content appears as a cited source.
  • The combination allows a mortgage professional to manage their website, traditional search visibility, content and emerging AI search presence through a single provider focused exclusively on the mortgage...

What to take from it

Because the content is published in a regulated industry, each article passes through an automated compliance check designed to flag mortgage advertising and fair lending issues. First, a borrower asks an AI tool a question about local mortgage professionals, then finds a few names of service providers, then goes to Google to check their credentials. Two of Vonk Digital clients recently moved their content programs onto Authority after paying multiple outside agencies between $2,500 and $4,000 a month for content alone, on websites Vonk Digital already hosted.

Example or evidence

  • Vonk gives them what they need to continually build their client roster." Vonk Digital also cautions mortgage professionals against treating AEO as a shortcut to guaranteed rankings or leads.
  • "What I really like about Vonk's Authority offering is that it helps us consistently build our online presence without having to become experts in content, SEO, or the constantly changing world of AI search.
  • Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Solana Beach, California, Vonk Digital builds websites and digital visibility systems exclusively for the mortgage industry.
  • "Anyone promising they can guarantee ChatGPT recommendations or leads is not being straight with you," Balsamo said.

Details worth keeping

Authority starts at $497 per month and includes the website it runs on. The user remains responsible for their own advertising compliance. "The engines are not mysterious," Balsamo said.
