# What was announced
Metallica will resume the M72 tour in North America with a 12‑date stadium run in May and June 2027. The shows begin May 8 at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, and conclude June 19 at Rice‑Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
# Dates and ticket windows
Fan club presales are scheduled to start Monday, September 21 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Additional presales will run through the week. The general public onsale begins Friday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m. local time. For ticket and package details, the band directs fans to Metallica's official website.
# Where these shows fit into Metallica's schedule
These 12 stadium dates are an extension of the long‑running M72 world tour. They come alongside a multi‑date residency at the Las Vegas Sphere and a pair of shows at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, scheduled for November. The new North American stadium run takes place after the band's 2026 commitments at the Sphere and other previously announced dates.
# Support acts and background on Avatar
Avatar supported Metallica on the European portion of the M72 tour earlier in 2026. Metallica praised Avatar on social media after that leg, noting Johannes Eckerström and the band brought "something completely new" to the stage and kept audiences in Europe and the UK engaged. Limp Bizkit, listed alongside Avatar for the 2027 North American dates, is presented as part of the support lineup for the entire announced stretch.
# Practical takeaways for fans
# Why this matters
The addition of 12 stadium dates keeps the M72 tour active into 2027 and pairs Metallica with two established support acts for a full North American stadium run. The band's endorsement of Avatar following the European shows is explicit in the announcement and is a notable part of the lineup context.
