What's new
Treehouse Hotel Manchester is launching a rooftop restaurant, bar and lounge and adding nine premium suites. The rooftop offerings will sit on the hotel's 14th and 15th floors. The additional suites will be located on the 11th and 12th floors.
Why this matters for guests
The expansion increases the hotel's F&B options with a full rooftop destination and adds higher-end accommodation options—presidential suites and flexible, interconnecting rooms—aimed at families and groups. The rooftop food-and-drink spaces and the external partnerships extend the hotel's daylong amenity set for visitors who want more on-site leisure and socialising options.
What's on the rooftop
- Sister Moon: a rooftop restaurant combining British and Southeast Asian dishes, created by chef Sam Grainger with Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford.
- The Nest: a cocktail bar positioned as part of the rooftop offer.
- The Hideout: a speakeasy-style lounge intended to complete the rooftop F&B circuit.
Rooms and layout
The hotel, which opened in 2025, currently has 224 rooms. The expansion adds nine suites across the 11th and 12th floors. The new suites include presidential suites and interconnecting configurations that can be used for families or group stays.
Partnerships and additional amenities
The hotel has formed a partnership with neighbouring The Pollen Club to provide guest access to its padel courts. Separately, The Good Sauna Co has designed an outdoor sauna experience at the hotel. These additions broaden the leisure options beyond the hotel's core facilities.
Design and delivery
Creative studio House of Black partnered with Starwood Hotels' design team on the interiors for the expansion.
Leadership comments
Raul Leal, CEO of Starwood Hotels, said: "Manchester has such an incredible creative and social energy, and Treehouse naturally grew out of that. It's a place where you can spend the entire day, whether you're here to work, connect, unwind, or simply have a great time."
Barry Sternlicht, founder and chairman of Starwood Hotels, said: "From the beginning, I imagined Treehouse as a place that feels more like a home than a hotel. As Treehouse Manchester grows, I love seeing new corners come to life, where people can gather, lose track of time, discover something unexpected, and leave with stories they'll want to tell."
How this fits the property
Treehouse Manchester already offers all-day dining by Mary-Ellen McTague, a lounge and bar, a fitness centre called The Playground, a 43-seat screening room, and flexible meeting space for up to 400 guests. The rooftop and added suites extend both the guest experience and the hotel's capacity for higher-tier stays.
What to watch next
Look for operational details such as opening dates, menu rollouts for Sister Moon, booking availability for the new suites, and any public access rules for the rooftop venues or the sauna. The partnerships with The Pollen Club and The Good Sauna Co could also generate programming or package offers aimed at active and leisure travellers.
