Useful takeaways from this story.

Apple Music is now officially available in Albania, Brunei, Burkina Faso, and Pakistan, increasing total availability to 172 countries and regions.

The launch coincides with other Apple services updates, including a major Android beta for Apple Music and recent Apple Pay and iCloud+ moves in other markets.

The useful part

The additions showed up Wednesday, September 30th, when Apple updated its media-services availability list. Albania, Burkina Faso, and Pakistan were already on Apple's recent list of places where iCloud+ includes Apple TV and Apple Arcade at no extra charge. Brunei is the exception: the Apple TV subscription service is still unavailable there, even as Apple Music arrives.

How it works

  • The expansion also follows Apple Pay's rollout in India and sits against a softer stretch for Services growth.
  • Hardware still drives most of Apple's revenue, but adding countries is how the company keeps enlarging the pool of people who can pay for Music, TV, Arcade, and the bundles that sit on top of them.
